The personal stories of ‘our gallant Nurses and Boys’ from the Cardwell district who volunteered for service in the Great War in Europe this time last century are now available to you online.
As part of our Society’s commemoration of the centenary of the 1914-18 war, we have created an online link to our marble honour roll in the J. C. Hubinger Museum in Cardwell, and the history behind it.
This link mirrors the interactive component of our honour roll within the museum and offers, not only an overview of how the Great War was felt in Cardwell, but the personal stories of each of those who served and died.
Go to the online honour roll here and then click on the image of the honour roll itself to go to the page which lists each service person in alphabetical order.
You can then click on the names of each ’nurse and boy’ to read their personal story.
Lest we forget.
